Try to make the work visible across your teams and organizations. You can do this with Jira dashboards (make em public), or plugins with JIRA.

I'm actually not sure on the github side of things. Sometimes it can be overwhelming. I used to be a big fan of waffleio for github, but not sure that's still a thing...

In my experience, most organizations today already use CI; in talking with Oracle customers and folks at conferences, I seldom find folks who aren't using CI...

In general, CI takes away the toil of actually building, testing, and deploying artifacts to your repositories. It's work that used to be manual before, but we all have too many things going on today to keep working on manual tasks that can be automated :)

There are many factors to consider and it's dependent team to team: Flexibility, security, performance, insights, unique compute, and release modeling.

I'm a fan of collaboration, so I always look for does it help your team collaborate and make work visible. Also, from a licensing perspective, does it help teams outside your own team view what work your team is upto.

Having an anonymous view is often great, and I always think back to my early days at National Instruments, where many teams installed the free 10 license version of JIRA, and we had dozens of free installations of JIRA before we ended up with the managed JIRA service.

I agree @iteration1, the name of the game comes down to collaboration. We've had customers tell us directly that starting with CircleCI increased communication across their teams even outside of technical topics.

@Kate_Catlin Agree! I'm a big fan of how you don't need to be logged into circle to be able to view build failures. Just allows folks to be able to solve problems, and the platform doesn't hinder that goal.
