@DougonIPComm these are the same issues that are limiting wider cloud adoption. At least with #GreenCloud we are aligned with all the work that has been done to move beyond the legacy.

Regulatory is a big stick used too often. Financial incentives moves the bar.

Culture is a luxury for many businesses, making profits is not.

while it was regulatory and climate focussed, corporates are stepping up and going beyond carbon neutral

at @VerneGlobal we believe that the cost savings and sustainable costs into the future is a reason to move to the #GreenCloud. Agree on education needed.

tax incentives can only go so far. Got to ask my friend Scott Clavenna of #Greentech_Media how much the solar panel incentives increased adoption for e.g.? My belief is it's got to be "more sustainble" than tax incentives :-)

Electricity accounts for 38% of US emissions. Transportation (which we are starting to electrify) another 32% according to the EPA. So if we shift generation to renewables, we have a lever to affect up to 70% of emissions

Big data can be used by grid operators to publish realtime electricity pricing, and have smart appliances consume this pricing info in realtime , and adjust their behaviour to more closely match the supply curve

This would stabilise the grid, allowing more unstable generators (renewables) to come onto the grid.
