#AI is going to be a super-hot topic at #VMworld Europe – we’re looking forward to welcoming @ProfBrianCox, @JoeBaguley, @KathrynParsons and @alexJC for a star-studded panel! What role in society do you think AI will play in the future? 🤖
Amit Panchal
I hate to bring the marketing message home but human machine partnerships is where we are going. AI has a role to play but we must retain some control. I’m interested in the thoughts of the panel as well as any books they recommend around the subject. #VMworld
Joe Baguley
Augmenting humans with AI will definitely be discussed.
Andreas Peetz⭕
@amitpanchal76 I agree keeping control is very important. We need to have strict rules in place and hard coded in a way that it is impossible to break them.
Amit Panchal
@JoeBaguley I can’t wait to hear more. Autonomous decision making is one thing but a human brain can make rational and sympathetic decisions so will be interesting to see how AI tackles this.
Joe Baguley
augmented emotions...
Arjan Timmerman
#AI is going to play a very huge role in society in the future. Keeping control will be key, but it will happen!
Amit Panchal
now you got me thinking @JoeBaguley. This conversation can go deep. I’m more interested to see how @VMware can innovate in this area.
Amit Panchal
What 1 thing would you recommend to first timers at #VMworld ?
Arjan Timmerman
Don't fill all possible slots with sessions, try to reach out to peers and try to start a discussion, or ask your questions as well... And don't be shy!!
Joep Piscaer
also, check out this list of social activities: http://www.vbrain.in...
Garry Owen
Definitely - you need to treat VMworld as a marathon rather than a sprint. If you fill your calendar completely with sessions, you'll burn out. Make sure you allow at least some downtime
Andy Nash
When out of the venu protect your wallet I have had my pocket picked on a bus last year 🙁
Gareth Edwards
I would say keep hydrated and keep your water bottle full where possible and maybe a pack of multivitamins
Megan Warren
A comfy pair of trainers!! Your whole body will ache by the end of the week but treat your feet well!
Joe Baguley
I'm with @BizTechMeg - really comfortable shoes. I would really like a segway... ;-)
Megan Warren
@JoeBaguley segways would be incredible! Although I feel I would be quite dangerous on one, especially in such a confined space!

Did you know it’s our 20th birthday this year? 🎁 As we grow, we’re expanding and innovating into emerging areas like IoT, artificial intelligence, machine learning, edge computing… Which are you most excited to hear about at #VMworld Europe?
Amit Panchal
I’m looking forward to hearing from Professor Cox on the AI panel. Should be a visionary conversation.
Arjan Timmerman
MultiCloud as well as AI, BlockChain and IoT
Gareth Edwards
I agree @amitpanchal76 I would say this is one of my highlights @VMware_UK
Andy Nash
20th birthday will there be 🍰 and present 🎁
Joe Baguley
@andynash99 Very nice of you to offer. I like Victoria Sponge.
Amit Panchal
Here’s one to ponder. If you could change the format of the keynote and make it more immersive or interactive what would you recommend ? #VMworld
Graham Barker
Interactive polls might work?
Garry Owen
Also, how do you see the balance of the content in the keynotes of the past - too general and not technical enough, the other way round, or just about right?
Joe Baguley
We've mixed it up this year, bring Ray and technical content and demos into the Day 1 keynote - I think you'll like it.
Graham Barker
Who's planning on watching any 15 minute #VMTN Tech Talks in VM Village?
Chris Bradshaw
I'm definitely going to see "Dev 4 the Ops Team" on Wednesday at 14:30 and I think there's a good one about free VMware resources straight afterwards ;)
Dan Belmonte
You know ;) Me!
Amit Panchal
haven’t decided which ones but they are not to be missed

(edited)

Graham Barker
i heard that the Free VMware resources one was the best one of the week!! :)
Gareth Edwards
I am sure its next to one of mine so I will be watching :)
Graham Barker
These are all the @VMTNCommunity Tech Talks (Some have spaces still!) https://my.vmworld.c...
Andy Nash
I will b watching a few @aldershotchris @GarethEdwards86 for starters
Joep Piscaer
What are things you always forget when travelling? Power Adapters? Good shoes?
Tom Howarth
once I forgot underware, but the hotel I was staying at, have pairs available in a vending machine
Garry Owen
That's more information than I needed ...
Paul McSharry
Always power adapters. I was very grateful at VMworld US for the vExpert gift this year
Andreas Peetz⭕
USB charges and cables that are long enough to bridge the gap between the bed and nearest power outlet.

#VMworld Europe returns to Barcelona on Monday! 🌍 Who’s attending this year and what are you most looking forward to?
Arjan Timmerman
I'll not be there, and reallly regret that. The topics are awesome, the #vCommunity is very warm and there is always tons of things to learn! #VMworldCrowdchat
Chris Bradshaw
lots of learning- in formal sessions and from the #vCommunity
Garry Owen
That's sad Arjan - what went wrong this year?
Paul McSharry
I'll be there - Always fun! I'm looking forward to watching some of the tech talks from the community / vExperts
Arjan Timmerman
@garryo130 Starting my own companies :D
Amit Panchal
looking forward to making new friends and learning more than I know already. Always an easy mission to accomplish
Garry Owen
@Arjantim I guess that's a good enough excuse :-)
Bjoern Brundert
looking forward to many interesting conversations about Kubernetes and VMware Pivotal Container Service at the VMware booth #meetmethere #vK8s
Gareth Edwards
Looking forward to being there and meeting more of the #vCommunity and hoping to do more #vPro #vExpert mentoring along with 3 talks :) Getting excited now
Andy Nash
It’s all about the cloudcred sorry the community lol
Paul McSharry
What is the one tip you would give to someone who has never been to VMworld before?
Chris Bradshaw
it's got to be "wear comfortable shoes" :)
VMware UK
plan your time in advance (and wear comfortable shoes). Two tips there... but both very important!
Robert vdNieuwendijk
Use comfortable shoes, drink a lot of water and don't spend all of your time in sessions. #vmworldcrowchat
Kirsten Cox
Give yourself enough time to explore the Solutions Exchange, exhibition areas and entrance hall - there's always so much going on!
Andy Nash
When out of the venu protect your wallet I have had my pocket picked on a bus last year 🙁

@YourCloudHub agreed, I never get enough time to hang out in the Solutions Exchange. So much going on in there.
