AI is being embedded into the IoT edge through refactoring of deep/machine learning into modules that are containerized and optimized for resource-constrained execution/training on distributed devices.

AI imho is augmented intelligence not artificial yet. That being said AI can help with dealing with automating things like data and what machines can do

Impact to legacy platforms of AI IoT-edge-deployment pushing the intelligence out to mobiles, sensor-equipped devices, and other devices that will execute more app logic, taking workloads off prem-based or public cloud enterprise apps

Right. Every tech is "artificial" (otherwise, it's not "tech"). AI is algorithmic, assistive, anticipatory, accelerated intelligence that may be used to automate or simply augment human intelligence (in an advisory role).

What are your thoughts @jameskobielus on developer impact both #cloudnative and #SAPHEC developers

#CloudNative developers need to understand how to compress AI algorithms/data down to more resource-constrained intermittently connected endpoints, in which server roundtripping minimized (e.g., distributed algo training).

#SAPHEC developers need to consider how to refactor enterprise-side deep-learning/machine learning apps/data for optimal deployment to distributed AI-infused IoT edge devices (especially mobiles and Industrial IoT sensor/actuator nodes).

Will someone explain the difference between HANA Enterprise Cloud and SAP Cloud Platform. Just want it on the record here.

SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud is a fully scalable and secure private cloud offering. It is MCaaS (Managed Cloud as a Service), with governance controlled by the customer. It is extension of Customer's network.

where as SAP Cloud Platform is a public cloud PaaS(Platform as a service offering) with comprehensive application development services and capabilities and governed by SAP

And SCP is more of a platform-aaS. Think of SCP as a bridge between HANA and rest of the SAP SaaS porfolio....for starters.

– HEC is a private managed cloud, and is an ideal location for running SAP HANA workloads supported by a team experienced in managing 1,000s of instances. This is where the digital core lives.

-- SCP is a great complement to HEC. It enables building, extending, and integrating the digital core in a way more suitable in an agile world.

@TeddyBGame, believe first and foremost criteria for S4 HANA transition is the business readiness to digital transformation

I think that security is a key roadblock @TeddyBGame

@teddybgame I’ve fielded both categories of roadblocks in discussions with customers.

Regarding IT operations… Balancing resources between As-Is and To-Be can be tricky, and HEC is providing a bridge for this transition by helping the business focus more on innovation & less on keeping the lights on.

@ZachShayATL, what's the most common roadblock you field? Spare no detail.....in 256 characters or less. :)

@furrier I agree with security, it's a key discussion point. But we have federal customers using HEC who've moved beyond that hurdle once they learned about our framework for securing the network.

@teddybgame Comfortability seems to be the most common road block I field. HEC reduces the risk of this journey, enables customers to move at their own pace, and begins a partnership for long-term innovation.
