I wonder why with ASIC HP 3PAR support deduplication with large granularity of 16k while some modern software solutions come with great performance and better dedup granularity of 4k

agree - tape will have a place because nothing has come as replace long term archival storage

No way - move to flash increases the need for tape imo - tape is cheaper and can be faster than disk (time to last byte)
