Robin Scharpf
Q1: What new #B2B #SocialMedia Listening tools for #Twitter did you test-drive this week?
Denise Bahs
A1: Loving Twitonomy for social selling prospecting!
Paul Krappman
A1: I spent most of the week playing around with Twitonomy and Twazzup. Both are great for monitoring competition. #socialauthority
Paul Gillin
Nothing news this week, I'm afraid.
John Furrier
Sprinklr now has listening as well
Denise Bahs
@furrier loving this CrowdChat tool too! Great interface. #socialauthority
Profitecture
I have seen some interesting leaderboards generated by Brandwatch
CatherineCameronHeld
A1 @paulkrappman I'd like to hear more about Twazzup
John Furrier
@denisebahs If you notice Crowdchat has profiles and messaging if you click on someones name and we collect all the data so it has built in messaging (paid version)
Paul Gillin
Anyone tried Periscope yet?
Denise Bahs
@furrier good to know. thanks!
Profitecture
@pgillin I know Brian is looking at Periscope and Meerkat side-by-side.
Robin Scharpf
.@PaulGillin I've tried Periscope; video seems to be stronger than Meerkat
John Furrier
@pgillin I've been using it and it's good but the random harassment in the comments are bad for instance Ariana was sexually harassed when I did a perisope it was bad
John Furrier
Periscope blows Meerkat away imo
Robin Scharpf
Q2: What did you like about the #SocialMedia Listening tools for #Twitter?
Denise Bahs
A2: With Twitonomy and sales prospecting, you can look at any handle and check out the hashtags they use most. Opp for engagement there.
Profitecture
A2: @RobinScharpf I can create tabs and streams in HootSuite all day long. I use it for professional listening and also to find fun things to do.
Robin Scharpf
.@DeniseBahs thanks for turning me on to #Twitonomy. Great value for #sales & #marketing
Denise Bahs
A2: Yes @Profitecture I LOVE HootSuite too - use it everyday!! Even in grocery line. :) #socialauthority
CatherineCameronHeld
A2 mobile Hootsuite is my go-too! Slick!
Robin Scharpf
I like #HootSuite - ability to view multiple lists at one time AND schedule updates
Denise Bahs
A2: Can't operate without #HootSuite - it filters out the noise and organizes everything into streams!
Paul Krappman
A2: For me, a lot of the tools that we are playing around with are for quick insights to competitive positioning and conversation. #socialauthority
Profitecture
A2: @RobinScharpf I even like to search on Twitter native. Real time results are right there.
CatherineCameronHeld
A2 I also like the analytics Hootsuite provides. Weekly report sent right to me.
John Furrier
In all the demos and uses of tools I've evaluated two major things: 1) finding signal 2) automating mundane tasks --> all to focus on content development & engagement
John Furrier
one more thing RELEVANCE it has to real time happening now and very dynamic
CatherineCameronHeld
A2 Anyone out there using Buffer?
Profitecture
@cathcamheldt @HootSuite is nice because of the dashboard view. You don't have to go hunting and pecking.
John Furrier
@PaulKrappman competitive is huge gr8 point
Denise Bahs
You are welcome! :)
CatherineCameronHeld
A2 I realize it's not a listening tool, but I also use/love Hoolet. Great!
Paul Gillin
@cathcamheldt I've never seen a need for Buffer since Hootsuite seems to have the same features. Am I missing something?
CatherineCameronHeld
@pgillin No, just curious....I know it's out there and people seem to use. Droid vs. iPhone? :)
Profitecture
@cathcamheldt Buffer is great for straight-up scheduling. It could not be any easier and I can load up Tweets for a couple of days, then jump into Twitter for real time.
Profitecture
@pgillin I like the Buffer button as an option for tweeting later.
Paul Gillin
What are best practices for responding to mentions of your name/brand on Twitter. Do you acknowledge every one?
Robin Scharpf
Yes if it's an authentic mention. I'm finding some are "automated"
Denise Bahs
I personally thank all who mention me. I feel that's more important thank RT if I had to rank them. :P
John Furrier
great questions I personally don't like automated responses like buffer bc i'm old school like to do it directly what I call virtual face to face - more real
Profitecture
I like to acknowledge in some way, either by thanking, adding to a list, going to their feed and favoriting. We all want to know we are being heard.
Denise Bahs
@furrier I'm with ya on that!
Paul Gillin
@furrier I agree that automated responses are no good. Interested more in whether you try to respond to every mention.
John Furrier
. @pgillin the @ reply is a great handshaking protocol or as we call it a "fist pump" online; RT is endorsement so I always try to acknowledge the interaction to access the authenticity
Paul Gillin
You can also favorite a tweet. Users get a notification when you do that.
John Furrier
the @ reply is a great handshaking protocol or as we call it a "fist pump" online; RT is endorsement so I always try to acknowledge the interaction to access the authenticity
John Furrier
I use fav a ton bc it is a like weight postive gesture - that's my "fist pump"
Paul Krappman
Q2a: What are you finding lacking in the tools that you have investigated? A wish list?
Robin Scharpf
A2a: I'd love to see analytics for my #Twitter lists.
Denise Bahs
A2a:On HootSuite, would be nice 2 b able to tweet to a list or group of people more easily. Not listening per se, but something on my wish list.
Paul Krappman
A2a: To answer my own question, I'm looking for the ability to listen to a specific group of handles.
CatherineCameronHeld
A2a G+ for individual for Hootsuite...if G+ hangs in there ;)
John Furrier
in others word what we don't like about current listening tools? - all are very hard to use imo even ours we built
Paul Gillin
I'd like to have better cross-network information so I could easily see profiles in other nets.
Profitecture
A2a @PaulKrappman That's an interesting idea ... how to listen to a list :)
John Furrier
main issues we've found is the data sources of silos of apps all behave differently which require good software which most are not that strong in scaling the software
Paul Gillin
@furrier And each app offers up different kinds of data and that data changes all the time. FB just canceled its hash tag API.
