@joebaguley I remember you saying supermicro will be next big sponsers of vmware events and not Dell and HP etc? Are we getting there with the likes of EVO:rail and Nimble which is a supermirco chassis?

What I can talk to is what is planned...

End User Computing is growing FAST. VMware (with acquisitions of AirWatch and Desktone) is in a great position to ride the wave.

This is a repeat from me, but @IDC sees disaggregated physical infra, convergence/fabric, SDDC and open tech redefining both on prem and off prem datacenters.

I also predict that "Hybrid" will be more common than "Public", when talking about Cloud, for the first time ever.

@simon Partnership on DaaS with #Google and #NVIDIA an interesting one to watch.

2015 and beyond will be the innovation in the networks - the Google partnership is mostly a "barney" deal but that is the direction - take their network and developer mojo and blend it with vmware and magic!

We still see 80% of IT spend going into maintenance. This is going to hold a lot of folks back.

people and process need to change. Automation needs to be embraced. Re-training folks will be critical to survival.

John, Google + VMware is actually much more - customers have access to both environments and products. It's going to be HUGE.

I agree but from a product standpoint it's a barney deal; I was cool with that deal but the real action is in their peering and network assets and developer traction that's the gamechanger

more people will move to current generation hardware and software allowing them to deliver more to the business and faster

vMotion is the sexy feature but still lots to do there in term of the long distance piece
