So let's talk about 2015. What are major developments do you see on the horizon for enterprise in 2015? #VMchat

What I can talk to is what is planned...
Simone Brunozzi
End User Computing is growing FAST. VMware (with acquisitions of AirWatch and Desktone) is in a great position to ride the wave.
Matt Eastwood, IDC
This is a repeat from me, but @IDC sees disaggregated physical infra, convergence/fabric, SDDC and open tech redefining both on prem and off prem datacenters.
Simone Brunozzi
I also predict that "Hybrid" will be more common than "Public", when talking about Cloud, for the first time ever.
John Furrier
2015 and beyond will be the innovation in the networks - the Google partnership is mostly a "barney" deal but that is the direction - take their network and developer mojo and blend it with vmware and magic!
Matt Eastwood, IDC
We still see 80% of IT spend going into maintenance. This is going to hold a lot of folks back.
Matt Eastwood, IDC
people and process need to change. Automation needs to be embraced. Re-training folks will be critical to survival.
Simone Brunozzi
John, Google + VMware is actually much more - customers have access to both environments and products. It's going to be HUGE.
Christian Bateman
@furrier disagree with you on Google/VMware - the combination of vCloud Air Enterprise features and google big query could be a game cahnger
Simone Brunozzi
BOLD technology prediction? Wow. So hard. Emergence of AI in our daily life (mostly mobile) by end of 2015?
Christian Bateman
@matteastwood + 1 on automation is needed. Screwdrivers don't scale.
John Furrier
I agree but from a product standpoint it's a barney deal; I was cool with that deal but the real action is in their peering and network assets and developer traction that's the gamechanger
