End User Computing is growing FAST. VMware (with acquisitions of AirWatch and Desktone) is in a great position to ride the wave.

This is a repeat from me, but @IDC sees disaggregated physical infra, convergence/fabric, SDDC and open tech redefining both on prem and off prem datacenters.

I also predict that "Hybrid" will be more common than "Public", when talking about Cloud, for the first time ever.

@simon Partnership on DaaS with #Google and #NVIDIA an interesting one to watch.

2015 and beyond will be the innovation in the networks - the Google partnership is mostly a "barney" deal but that is the direction - take their network and developer mojo and blend it with vmware and magic!

We still see 80% of IT spend going into maintenance. This is going to hold a lot of folks back.

people and process need to change. Automation needs to be embraced. Re-training folks will be critical to survival.

John, Google + VMware is actually much more - customers have access to both environments and products. It's going to be HUGE.

I agree but from a product standpoint it's a barney deal; I was cool with that deal but the real action is in their peering and network assets and developer traction that's the gamechanger

more people will move to current generation hardware and software allowing them to deliver more to the business and faster

@eloyont So, now we are seeing VSAN used for pretty much every use case to be honest, now including "Tier One" apps - hence the T-Shirt...

someone said that VSAN is still far too expensive for an enterprise solution. I can build an all flash array delivering data by lightning and powered by the sun for the cost of VSAN licensing

Simply put, it is One Cloud, Any Application, Any Device.

One Cloud = customers are now able to take advantage of Hybridity - liquid pool of resources.

and they can run any app on either their own private cloud, or public cloud (vCloud Air), and move between the two

Essentially, thanks to advances in NSX and vCloud Air, and vSphere 6, on premise and off premise can become one.
