Depends on which government you mean... data privacy laws favor the government a bit less in #Iceland and #Germany - favors the free press & enterprises more than the US

#IoT pervasive giving transparency to cost of goods, energy and effort. For consumers though privacy is at peril.

like most other technologies the benefits will come from applications we cant imagine. Who could have predicted the cell phone industry would effectively remove the desire for people to talk on the phone?

So #IoT is about building one huge distributed computer that can know everything. And tell you what to do.

I wouldn't say that, but distributed computing in clusters perhaps, it will know more, it won't tell you what to do, but it will defiantly give you suggestions and predict your desire based off pervious behavior.

the social fabric that is being woven now will be sewn together by the nextgen via #IoT. we won't recognize it.

I can see how individual IoT data like home energy efficiency, mobile data, and car/telematics data can provide near real time insight into total energy usage.

Default 'plug n play' for #IoT needs to be changed, allowing for kill switch and clear data capture details to be addressed

#IoTanalytics as a CMO it means I have more data then ever to work with ... so now I must figure out how to drive real intelligence from it.

I tend to take an enterprise view of the potential of IoT. I don't need things in my house to talk. Any thoughts?

True, data overload is a challenge.

I think we need to accept #IoTanalytics as becoming a new normal and it will intersect our lives both at work and at home. It is how we will connect with technology. Think of smart watches and the ability to track your health in ways you never could.

@danablouin I'm sure that is coming but I think the benefits to the enterprise are much more tangible near term than consumer applications

@TheIoTGuy I think there is bigger payoff in the enterprise but I see the consumer side as the more tangible IoT application right now.
