Fine with me too. It's forced the reexamination of how people do business and conduct their operations

- we've seen bad actors flock to using COVID-19 as a social engineering method. A few months ago, anything with COVID-19 was a hot target for folks to click on...we had to get out early to train not to go to anything but known sites.

the shift to more remote work has shown absolutely the issues with trying to manage network governance -- when it becomes a bring your own service provider.

It is top of mind like most are saying

- Healthcare has seen an uptick in ransomware and phishing attacks, especially during COVID's focus so we’ve been working with our clients more closely – especially the smaller clinics that aren’t as security savvy as a hospital or larger health system.

remote work does provide a new range of security challenges

it is the hot topic for sure, and has had a causal impact in more bad actors after data, especially in healthcare unfortunately

sadly, also seen bad actors target enterprises through clouds more - so no reuse of passwords boys and girls!!!

@GadiNaor I can say one thing in this context ... we have seen a significant rise of tailor made k8s probing attempts made from all continents

@ofcourseduh - agreed, has bumped up our efforts exponentially with everyone working from home outside the confines of our infrastructure safety blanket ;-)

we are curious animals, we like to understand what;s going on, opens the door for attack vectors to leverage the curiosity to their own ends.

@pspeciale Yes, Healthcare is under attack even more so than pre-COVID. Medical records data is a target.

Minor impact on the industries we target and talk to for our solutions. The main thing of concern is on hardware supply chain.

A5: We have seen a significant increase in attacks on remote workers which has triggered IT departments to contemplate endpoint security with new enthusiasm

A5: @metallic_io decided to offer Endpoint data protection for free during the pandemic to help with what was previously a lower priority for many

A5: we service customers across ALL industries. Lots of supply chain concerns. Lots of model shifts at lightning speed. BUT, lots of concern on the data itself. Interestingly we've seen folks double down on data protection best practices.

A5: At the start of the global shutdowns, priorities were clear.
- Keep people safe.
- Keep customers satisfied.
- Keep people working.
…now the focus is on preventing ransomware, being ready for DR, cloud & finding ways to repurpose the budget. #eWEEKchat

A5: Easier transition for Rackspace given existing remote work policies and practices. We've seen both customers pause and scale back work and others use the opportunity to under take huge transformation projects. Security is definitely top of mind for our customers

A5: SaaS services to support remote work have taken on new significance and protection/governance of those services needs to be top of mind

folks also talking about what happens later. in healthcare especially de-regulation has led to some amazing shifts/adoption.

attackers and threat actors in WFH mode, with all day long hands on keyboard - translated to major increase in breach attempts - some of them actually targets open source projects that ended up inside containers

I think some changes are permanent. Working remotely went from a way to keep folks socially distanced to major cost savings (and increase worker sat in some cases) to the business. Still need to protect the data.
