Q2: We've all heard IT managing multiple clouds is difficult. How do you integrate the Public Cloud while still retaining complete control of your data and apps?
Adam J. Bergh
Hybrid cloud storage requires IT orgs to deal with new vendors and work at the edge of an evolving industry. Do your homework.
Enrico Fuiano
IT organizations need to rely on a truly open and secure hybrid cloud environment. And for that to take place you should have the ability to move your cloud workloads around.
Krishna Subramanian
"Public clouds" is not just the mega-clouds like AWS. Take the BTCloud as an example - using NetApp, Citrix and Cisco, BT offers a secure solution for customers to leverage both private and public clouds.
Nick Howell
Anyone that thinks the typical IT department isn't used to managing multiple things hasn't been in a datacenter in the last 5+ years. Every env will manage their own assets uniquely. There is no one-size-fits-all solution.

if they're powered by #vmware its easy to integrate into vCenter. AWS is a different beast in itself
Enrico Fuiano
At Cisco Live Milan we recently announced Cisco InterCloud that will enable that portability of data and applications for hybrid clouds. More information can be found @ www.cisco.com/go/cloudevolution and www.cisco.com/go/intercloud #cloud

Deploy, adopt, and manage cloud services with confidence. Lower your TCO, mitigate risk, and increase your agility.
John Furrier
that is the billion dollar question. all seeking this answer nice
Enrico Fuiano
To remain relevant to the business, IT must become a “change agent” and be perceived as a true strategic enabler. We envision IT organizations transitioning to new roles as trusted ‘brokers of IT services’.
Enrico Fuiano
This model enables IT to add value to one or more public or private cloud services on behalf of its users. IT does this by dynamically bringing together, integrating, and tailoring the delivery of cloud services to best meet business needs.

Are you seeing customers embracing cloud computing? What type? Private, Public, or Hybrid?
IG: @mscproductions
Hybrid cloud in my case
Krishna Subramanian
Many customers are using both Private and Public clouds in pockets and now want to piece them together with a hybrid strategy
Adam J. Bergh
I am starting to see my clients talk about a need to keep their data "forever". Not just for compliance efforts either...
Krishna Subramanian
We are seeing that cloud is not a one-size-fits-all
Adam J. Bergh
Keeping a "forever archive" is difficult with only on-prem storage. This is where the hybrid-cloud can step in.
Enrico Fuiano
I believe that the debate regarding private versus public cloud is over. It is about having both at the same time. This is what we hear from our customers.
Krishna Subramanian I agree, customers want the flexibility to pick the right cloud by use case or sometimes even by the stage in the lifecycle of that app.
John Furrier
Public is very high uptake on very non-risky shadow IT stuff and big infrastructure happening at the hybrid level
Enrico Fuiano
And hybrid cloud is emerging as the new ‘normal.’ The ability to combine and dynamically aggregate cloud services from private and public clouds is a key requirement for our customers.
Nick Howell
End users are more comfortable with public cloud usage than we give them credit for. Much like Dropbox and Gmail, I see enterprises taking advantage of file services and Backup/DR as a "dip your toes in" sort of approach.

Another data point from @theCUBE is that on premise is actually getting more focus because the architectural design work going on .. on prem is not going away anytime soon
Adam J. Bergh
Assuming 30% to 40% primary data growth rates, existing storage would need to double in size during the next three years!
