Hot off the press the @wikibon public cloud spending forecast #cloud http://www.via-cc.at...

John Furrier
The public cloud PaaS market will grow from $2.8B in 2016 to $3.6B in 2017 and $48.9B by 2027, a CAGR of 29.8%. This market overall is still in its early formative stage, both public and private cloud manifestations.
Pradeep B Menon
there is no stopping public cloud now, guess the business drivers are very evident now
John Furrier
PaaS growth will be facilitated by these drivers:
John Furrier
PaaS makes the development cycle much more efficient
John Furrier
Public cloud PaaS will grow fast because of greenfield opportunities
Aanchal Kalia
This is really insightful..
John Furrier
Considerable VC investment into this space bolsters growth
John Furrier
Developers are gaining more influence in platform decision-making
John Furrier
PaaS is beginning to turn out commercial SaaS products
Ranjitha Menon
Devops and Automation will only make it better! :)
John Furrier
Enterprise actors – both business and IT – need to be actively engaging in bringing the public cloud into their business today and planning a strategy for a technology that is likely to make up as much as 28% of their IT spending budget by 2027.
John Furrier
Ultimately, practitioners need to consider their enterprise’s unique business and digital transformation requirements to properly architect and deploy workloads where they can obtain the best business value for their enterprise.
John Furrier
To accomplish this, enterprises should establish an adaptive strategy that exploits the best of today’s public cloud offerings while hedging their bets to leave open the space to move to alternative platforms such as hybrid

Large businesses are adopting cloud faster than small businesses. http://bit.ly/2uMYyt... #UnlockExperiences http://www.via-cc.at...

Guy Shone
Interesting chart. How do big #cloud providers currently.view selling to smaller customers do you think?
Kevin L. Jackson - (ISC)2 CCSP, Swansea, UK
Larger companies are adopting cloud faster than SMEs
Guy Shone
Is that push (they're not considered atttactive to sell to) or pull (they don't see the value)?
Ian Moyse
small can have the greater gain if they are open to it
Kevin L. Jackson - (ISC)2 CCSP, Swansea, UK
I agree but the market seems slow on the uptake in Austrailia
Umesh Punjabi
See a lot of customers adopting a cloud first policy #unlockexperiences

Q3 | Which Australian vertical Markets/Industries are adopting #cloud?

#UnlockExperiences @tech_mahindra @dez_blanchfield http://www.via-cc.at...

curzon narcis
alot in the enterprise space
Tony Flath 🎙 Podcast
What I see in North America is in the commercial space from mid to large #cloud all the way Public Sector slower but on the move data sovereignty becomes key #UnlockExperiences #FXpress
Grant Johnstone
to my surprise initially... FSI !!!
curzon narcis
@GrantJHP true that. We are seeing alot of traction in FSI as well
Gnanashanker
We are seeing most industry verticals checking out Cloud. Most then seem to adopt a hybrid cloud environment with the ability to get in out of public cloud services.
Ranjitha Menon
@TmanSpeaks I agree. I believe it is the same in other geographies with Public sector being slower in adopting cloud technology!
Pravin Bolar
consumer facing digital transformation verticals are the biggest beneficiaries, hence travel, telecom, banking, insurance, media
Tech Mahindra
We have worked with a host of #aviation, #manufacturing, #banking and #financialservices clients in Australia!
CT
I will also add transportation to it. Construction is probably one of the big ones lagging in this area. They are very traditional
Grant Johnstone
of course I view cloud as hybrid, and a delviery model more than 'public' so I think to some extent its scattered horizontal accross those who are prepared/need to change !

telecom is another vertical that is adopting cloud in different forms based on business needs
Siddharth Nair
does any sector have the option not to adopt #cloud?
Ian Moyse
typically its private not public that leads the way and newer more than legacy firms.
Grant Johnstone
@follownair interesting point.. of course they have the option.. and some may do well without it.. but the trend is definitely clear
Pradeep B Menon
the newer firms and start ups are born on cloud #cloudfirst
Pradeep B Menon
@GrantJHP is not adopting cloud really an option? What would be the business case for it?
