and Regional Service, which holds the data in multiple data centers in a given region. Both the Regional and Cross Region services provide SecureSlice, encrypted erasure coding to protect the data.

This allows customers to chose the level of geographic fault tolerance they need.

Both services are offered with two classes of storage too, Standard for active data, and Vault for inactive data.

there are multiple security features. IBM is the only company to have combined erasure coding with encryption and decryption to provide encryption at rest for all data

SecureSlice automatically encrypts each segment of data before it is erasure coded and dispersed.

Data at rest on the hard drives in each node is completely encrypted and secure

Objects can only be decrypted through the IBM Cloud’s Accesser technology by accessing a threshold number of the storage nodes

And additionally this is automated in the services we deliver on IBM Cloud
