OpenStack is going to have a strong presence this year, imho. Glad to be announcing future support for OpenStack @cohodata

Its a combination of innovation, messaging and mass pain point solution.

I think that (an commented on a post today on siliconangle we wrote) AWS is the big threat to the Federation. Sure Pure Storage could nip at the heels of EMC but AWS could put EMC out of business in the long term.

OpenStack foundation reps will be speaking at the spotlight breakout on Monday after Pat's keynote. So there will be something. :)

@hui_kenneth @aarondelp we are broadcasting #openstackSV event next month. Huge shifts happening with cloud VMware and Pivotal are really running fast and hot. I worry they are "red lining" their engines

I agree for some workloads but disagree in big picture. Way too many use cases where data gravity kicks in and public will be a non-starter.

I'll be there next month as well (crap, need to get a plane ticket). See you at the event!

@aarondelp MS has far more disposable income to play with compared to Amazon. I dont see google being able to execute on the sales/marketing side

@aarondelp I would also add watch HP and Msft - I have zero data but my gut is they would be killer partners in the post WinTel world

HP & MSFT announced a big partnership back in '09 or '10... not sure if anything came of it.

@JMacQuarrie that was during the Ballmer era but now Azure will be the big gun for them to drive value imho. HP is investing heavily in openstack so it's a nice match

I think that there is a #bigdata company out there we haven't seen playing in the cloud that will be disruptive..I'm looking for that wave

@aarondelp Platform9 concept is good, but imo, they are a little late to the game

@aarondelp HA! I am a vExpert that is just an average day to day user of VMware. Should I find a storage company to go work for? ;-)

In general companies that can show value to their customers quickly, identify customers paint points and show how they solve it all in a 45 sec pitch will make splashes :)

Not sure I call Nutanix a new company but they are disrupting with their approach

Looking forward to introducing more folks to @Atlantis_USX - moved beyond just VDI workloads to accelerating any VM workload and reducing capacity by 90%. Nice value prop to work with...

#VMworld turing into a storage conference this year with all the new players. @Infinio included! I'll be laying out the 5 new storage architectures in an unbiased manner @vbrownbag 1PM Monday. That said, I vote for #Docker as most disruptive.

Of course the other way to determine most disruptive at #Vmworld is which new tech/Companies does #VMware respond to in their keynote! ;-)

@Crowdfather True, but will it win with the admin teams who have to manage it? Still see a technical disconnect for rank and file IT teams.
