What are some of the other "tangential" events?

I'm with Stu on the Cloud Panel. Even though it is listed as sold out they will let people in until the Fire Marshall chases people away. If you are around on Sunday, I would suggest going. Many different tracks (networking, cloud, storage, etc.)

Will be interesting to see the direction VMW takes with OpenStack this year

imo pace of customer and partner adoption will determine VMware's behavior

There will be some very important announcements around OpenStack.

@dvellante I think key to customer adoption is making OpenStack easier to consume in the Enterprise, still too tough. That is why we are seeing Platform9, MetaCloud, Bluebox, etc.

Clients will determine the future, will be interesting to see vendor behavior...

We can all live in harmony. The power of the Federation is Choice. Want OpenStack with the benefits of ESX virtualization and NSX networking? You got it! Want to use vCAC to manage OpenStack/KVM, Sure! There are "No Limits".

@hui_kenneth Hope they announce something tangible instead of vSmoke.

@JMacQuarrie Perhaps vSmoke will be available at the social events...

Companies like Mirantis with their Fuel offering will turn OpenStack mainstream... that is AWESOME technology.

I think u will see more signs of VMware embracing OpenStack & the Dev community

save the vSmoke for #vStogies and off the main stage.

@hui_kenneth Would be an interesting move. Will the communities embrace them back? That's the big question.

OpenStack is something that cannot be ignored in my opinion. All Vendors including VMware are and will be working to embrace it and help out Customers with what Customers Ultimately want.

@JMacQuarrie That "Easy" button will be hard regardless of things being open or not. It's a little more difficult with the Open World ATM, but a lot happening in that space to create that "Easy" button.
