BadUSB and Equation Group just show that bad actors move quickly. Your best action is to continuously work on security.

BadUSB can defended via signed code which IronKey does on all its devices.

@CrowdCaptain Security is like locking your home - often you increase your home security when you buy something new or have a child.

gr8 stuff Leon: how does this relate when it comes to securing mobile data

IronKey Workspace - a full manageable, IT secure-able, Windows OS on encrypted USB. Portable, can be secured with whatever DLP/AV products you use, and impregnable if lost.

An IronKey Workspace, a secure USB device, with hardware encryption is more secure and more portable than laptops. It is all I use.

What security are you currently using for your mobile data? USB is great for laptops I see that but what about mobile?

Windows To Go, a Microsoft Windows SA benefit, is turning out to be a huge hit now - we're seeing a lot of uptake now that people are getting use to Win8 and seeing the benefits of a portable OS.

@renaecazet I am at the hands of the app not anything implemented we use cloud #SaaS so we don't know what we are exposed for

@CrowdCaptain Security is tricky - SaaS just means your doing some part of your work via a cloud. Any time you move content to a local device - a laptop, Workspace, USB device - you have to be wary of how data might leak if a device is lost.

Now we have wearables and other connected devices so this game only gets harder. It's complicated. How can it be simplified

We simplify by making it easier for end users of products to know they are secure - IronKey devices are secure by design - use them and data can't be breached. We'll need the same sense of security from consumer product manufacturers!

It's complicated. :-) Security is a moving target - at IronKey we're focused on the mobile workforces security. The end point.

it's a device and a people and policy issue. you need to have the right devices and policies for employees.

@Marina__Donovan the people piece is cultural issue which reflect on operations and usability; devices are diverse now so having a secure std platform isn't the norm so I can imaging the challenge to secure it all

- it depends on what's cloud and the content that resides on that cloud. access control is key.

Keeping track of both structured and unstructured data is a big concern. Access Control is one method by which you can keep track of who is seeing/using what.

But on top of Access Control, data governance and policy also are in-play. Many customers need to know that data at rest is safe at all times - no matter where it resides - this is often dictated by policy - where content can be used or stored.

@arianagradow I have always thought USB is a killer solution bc everything can be encrypted on the key and with user mobile using apps on prem and cloud it's a good execution of security

@arianagradow Security always has a user error component even with crypto solutions; user error is always a consideration
