Back in 2008/9 I chose LinkedIn as my preferred social network as it had a more grown up vibe...

Today I still think that but you need to go where your audience is for the mission you are on... go hang with the crowd...

it's pretty well known as the best place to promote yourself professionally, so building a crowd-wise it has a good reputation already

But rather like this chat... if you only have 5 in your group then there is silence... you need 1000 for a enough people to say enough things... like we need 25 on any given chat for a conversation to take place.. but from tiny acorns...

IMO LinkedIn connections tend to engage more often.

I tend to feel more connected to my LinkedIn contacts.

For me, the blog enables you to share the full message immediately via email with your crowd... and it will tweet, add to facebook, linkedin and a bunch of other channels... great platform... plus the SEO this commands...

does anyone read and comment though

most folk will not comment but i do know many read from the face to face feedback i get on specific stories

just going to add using the #crowdchat site in a phone is eating battery and nice to use

it's good practise for yourself anyway, to be able to structure your ideas, arguments and opinions, so that you are understood better in the long run, and you see how people respond to you, a lot more material than a simple status

so true gemma... mark, turn of the live stream down right and that will save your juice...

quick, easy to share, easy to reach people as people are less patient to read blogs as they are to watch a video

and you don't need a full on professional video... although it helps to be polished if you are corporate ;)

some people are getting creative with that now too, in order to be 'disruptive' (shuddering at the word!) so being tidy and slick isn't a priority sometimes either, they just think they're quirky!

I guess it depends on your audience and what they need... my mum thought Russell needed a wash!

Sounds like good advice to me... I see Russell doing that more & more... words on image around main focus of the day's story... helps with that 0.3 second initial attention... to then get a 3 second view... then 3 minutes... etc

Not tried to make one... tend to do talking heads on a topic... in the moment... camera on, 90 secs camera off... I'll give it some thought and ping you when I do...

Because it was the first... so the crowd is there... and it's easy to load your videos and add adverts if you want... tons of reasons...

Again Mark is flying with Instagram... shame his phone seems to have died!

Pictures paint a 1000 words and so you can blend great visuals with inspirational words... a place I want to try this summer... needs lots of tlc to do it right...

I love Instagram b/c of the photo adjustment features. It's easy to post and goes to all other social networks.

I'm going to have to up my game on Facebook, I see it as family channel and I know I'm not alone...

FB is all over the world. It's a great tool to leverage and connect with people from across the globe.

Mark's a big twitter user... I tend to dip in & our more... use it for things like this...

I'm terrible at Twitter, I can imagine it takes over a lot of lives! What's the best kind of use for it? If you are a business?

It's one to one conversation... so if you want to find someone talking on a topic right now #topic and they show up... engage...

add your comment under Q1... or other relevant Q, so that it flows...
