#linkedinchatLinkedIn ChatHow to best leverage LinkedIn
Mike Linville
If I want to make a splash on LinkedIn - is it better to post content on my blog and share it or directly on LinkedIn? #LinkedInChat
John Furrier
LinkedIn buzz is best driven by content (original or super curated). Twitter is more chatter and interaction; LinkedIn is more about value in the data/content
Mike Linville
Thanks @furrier - I'm just getting ready to setup a VA to migrate data and am wondering where the best place to store the data is.
Viveka von Rosen
Mike - I would do both. Your updates are NOT searchable on Linkedin - but easy to do.#LinkedInCHat
Steve Cassady
Linkedin likes content. Doing a Post is more effective than sharing a link. Do both. Summarize in a post with link
Viveka von Rosen
BUT - if you do have Publisher - your posts are "stickier". but take the time to write good ones!
Mike Linville
The content is solid ... So there's no downside to posting in both places.
John Furrier
Mike ping me if you want. I am studying LinkedIn bc I love the roledex but trying to crack the code on engagement. #socialbusiness can be big potential on LinkedIn
Mike Linville
thanks @furrier I just connected with you on linkedIn
Brian Fanzo
I've witnessed great numbers and shares from my linkedin publisher posts so now I see no reason to continue to post to my own personal blog
Mike Linville
is Publisher something you have to pay for?
Viveka von Rosen
You can apply for it here: http://specialeditio...
LinkedIn Publishing on Linkedin Wait List
LinkedIn is opening up our publishing platform to our members, giving them a powerful new way to build their professional brand. When a member publishes a post on LinkedIn, their original content becomes part of their professional profile, is shared ...
Mike Linville
Where is the best place to post content on linkedIn - Company page or in groups?
John Furrier
did you get the LinkedIn publishing capability yet? Groups are a hit or miss for me
Kim Beasley
Depending on the group type, company page may be better. It's open to public
Viveka von Rosen
You will FOR SURE get more engagement in Groups - but you have to be careful with SWAM
Viveka von Rosen
You can post whatever you want in your Company and Showcase Pages.
Mike Linville
seems like if engagement is what you're looking for groups are where you'd want to be
Kim Beasley
@LinkedInExpert good point and love that it's searchable too. Not so sure if groups are searchable
CrowdFather
LinkedIn will be swimming with the fishes if they don't clean up their engagement issues; it's too boring
Steve Cassady
I think it varies with your audience and nature of the post. Company Page for some and very targeted for groups
Mike Linville
So try both ... and check results. Seems legit.
Chaim Shapiro
I LOVE that #CrowdChat allows you to embed a chat in your blog!
John Furrier
each "thread" is a permalink and google search considers it like a blog post so amazing SEO
John Furrier
when LinkedIn accepts Iframes then this will rock the LinkedIn Groups
Chaim Shapiro
Is there a way to turn off that link at the end of every post?
Chaim Shapiro
It is REALLY nice that you can follow a thread during a chat...
Viveka von Rosen
I do too- so cool :))
Crowd Captain
note all replies thread automatically to twitter; I call it auto-scaffolding - click on blue bird on this thread to see what is looks like on twitter
Crowd Captain
here is the example (i didn't sent to twitter) https://twitter.com/...

I LOVE that #CrowdChat allows you to embed a chat in your blog! #Linkedinchat http://t.co/0iFWGtfR...

John Furrier
notice the right hand side the "locate this" where the "cc" blue icon is represents crowdchat comments
Chaim Shapiro
The problem is that the link even further limits the number of characters you can use
Chaim Shapiro
Ill try this for #CareerServChat if you guys give me access
Crowd Captain
I will approve you asap - love to have you
Viveka von Rosen
Has anyone been screwed yet by SWAM (site wide auto moderation?) I think they threw the baby out with the bathwater on that one!
Steve Cassady
Nope, am aware of many who have. Seems like I have to approve half the posts in our LinkChat Group
Kim Beasley
have experienced that and hope I don't LOL
John Furrier
I haven't or not aware. How can I find out more info on this?
Steve Cassady
@furrier There are quite a few posts. If you get blocked in one group SWAM blocks your ability to post in all groups.
Viveka von Rosen
@furrier If your posts are no longer showing up in groups you've probably been SWAMed - means it needs to curated - which most moderators are too lazy to do!
Chaim Shapiro
Takes up a LOT of time in a big group
Steve Cassady
@ChaimShapiro Yes it does and even when I go to auto approve for our group. Some seem to get SWAM'd again
Steve Cassady
Not many Group Managers/Owners know they can edit that control for their group to save work.
Viveka von Rosen
@SteveCassady Exactly - and BTW - thanks so much for saving me yet again.
Viveka von Rosen
@SteveCassady Also check your mail tomorrow :)
John Furrier
I've been trying to get iframe other than Youtube videos - LinkedIn support is not that supportive
Kim Beasley
Just started a journey of reconnecting with Twitter & @Linkedin followers. Looking for tools or apps to make the journey smooth.
Scarlet Dangerfield
Hootsuite (available on the Iphone AppStore) is great for managing your social media accounts!
John Furrier
I've found that original content and hosting these community chats drive great organic interaction
Kim Beasley
@ScarletPHR unfortunately, I'm not a fan of their UI. :) Love their concept though. Have PRO & use @BufferApp
Viveka von Rosen
Also - I was chatting with the folks @eGrabber today and they have a REALLY cool new FREE feature coming out.
Kim Beasley
@LinkedInExpert oooo haven't heard of @Oktopost, dets please
Brian Fanzo
@LinkedInExpert Agree @Nimble is great for connecting contacts across your digital touchpoints!
Kim Beasley
@LinkedInExpert guess who I will pestering? LOL
Kim Beasley
I've also been testing @commun_it & I like some of their features too
