Yes! Some of the platforms include their own develops tooling. So that means we still need to be concerned about the process and humans in the mix!

Designing for use of low code and no code platforms is a bit different as well. It’s not completely Greenfield as it is with total custom dev.

@vishnube - I agree and I’ve seen the same thing. Developers who have implemented ERP systems tend to love low code environments.

- I agree though we still need to have the open dialogue about development versus production. That topics not getting a lot of Air play from the low code community.

It’s the same story that we heard with cloud. It’s not always cheaper.

licensing model could be disruptive but may not be cheaper in all cases.. depends on the end users and consumers

@RjSriram15 - some of the vendors have done some pretty smart things. If you think about the Microsoft approach. Many organizations have enterprise licenses for office 365 and they have added in the power apps platform under the EULA.

It’s a big pivot. Custom development houses are now cranking out platforms. Nontraditional developers, the Citizen developers, are coming from all different backgrounds and giving us many more hands to build the software we need.

how is the competitive market looking like ?

Devops teams doesn't have to invest much on the technical debt because the platform is going to adapt and fill the gap for most part on the tech debt.

There are still tech Dept with low code/ no code… The face of it is a little bit different. Often times you have many different teams that are developing in parallel and there’s a lot of duplication of items that could be considered common features or common services.

Technical debt is critical to SDLC. But organizations should choose on the impact of the debt in their codes. Debts have to be either recovered, restructured or written off.. Not all debts can be recovered.. :)
