It's all about the skills. While tech consolidation is real, so are the skills needed to make it all happen. One platform, one set of skills can be game changing.

Tech consolidation is real and skills are in more demand across different tools. Both leads to higher costs and IT ops redundancy & efficiency. Understand not only how your org is using the tech but what it takes to operate and have staff to do it.

Also take into account if the tools you use to day is meeting the demands of the business wanting to do more on their own. CitDev is also real but you need a platform that can not just be easy to use but gives IT the right level of security and control.

The potential is endless in tech, just look at what's happening in AI (i.e.ChatGPT) right now. Innovation will never cease, but I'd encourage them to focus on tech that drives value and outcomes for their customers, people, and business.

Being a cog in the machine will get a paycheck, improving the machine can make your career. Increasing speed, quality and making others lives easier will get noticed. Small automations can have a big impact. Get started!

The real impact is when we see automation at scale. Sure a few automations can have a big impact because they are mission critical, true impact is when you see hundreds of automations being done.

Seeing a culture for automation drives real impact that most can participate in.
