Q1: What’s the top enterprise automation or integration trend you think we’ll see in 2023?
Michelle Ng
Customers are driving tech stack consolidation through the power of one platform. Lowering TCO, tech debt, & curbing unruly app sprawl with one platform for integration, automation, bots, AI, API mgmt. (ideally, natively). It's no longer a nice-to-have but a must-have
Michelle Ng
A recent #StateOfBT Report says that 69% of leaders are focused on consolidating their tech stack. https://discover.workato.com/state-of-business-tec...

It's all about the skills. While tech consolidation is real, so are the skills needed to make it all happen. One platform, one set of skills can be game changing.
Workato
Q6: What do you believe the future tech leaders must start thinking about today?
AutomationFanBoy
Tech consolidation is real and skills are in more demand across different tools. Both leads to higher costs and IT ops redundancy & efficiency. Understand not only how your org is using the tech but what it takes to operate and have staff to do it.
AutomationFanBoy
Also take into account if the tools you use to day is meeting the demands of the business wanting to do more on their own. CitDev is also real but you need a platform that can not just be easy to use but gives IT the right level of security and control.
Michelle Ng
The potential is endless in tech, just look at what's happening in AI (i.e.ChatGPT) right now. Innovation will never cease, but I'd encourage them to focus on tech that drives value and outcomes for their customers, people, and business.

Being a cog in the machine will get a paycheck, improving the machine can make your career. Increasing speed, quality and making others lives easier will get noticed. Small automations can have a big impact. Get started!
Michelle Ng
The rise of business technologists, a role where non-IT people are building digital capabilities, signals a shift in how companies/orgs look at how technology is delivered. Business experts are composing and adapting processes w/ tech to accelerate digital transformation
Michelle Ng
IT and business users alike gravitate to the Workato platform because it provides simplicity through low-code/no-code capabilities without sacrificing power, governance, or cross-functional collaboration.

Q3: What’s your most impactful automation use case?
AutomationFanBoy
Oldie but a goodie is employee onboarding. While is such a classic example of automation, the impact it has for employees is huge. To help be organized and have the right things in place your first few weeks, really helps take the stress out of it.
AutomationFanBoy
Customers like ChowNow have also seen 60% lower onboarding costs
Michelle Ng
There are endless use cases, really, but one that I found interesting was how Broadcom used Workato's platform to integrate 20+ systems like Workday and ServiceNow, and automated onboarding of 10k new employees incl. hardware and app provisioning. 16x faster onboarding.
Michelle Ng
@AutomateFanBoy and I are on the same page. Another interesting customer use cases is w/ WWE - integrating 200+ systems, and automating their Shopify migration in only 8 weeks. Citizen dev capabilities were critical to make this happen. https://www.workato.com/customers/wwe

Q2: What’s the most fun automation use case you’ve seen?
AutomationFanBoy
Oh I like this one. We all get hungry in meetings, so why not automate takeout during that team lunch with doordash?
Where there is an API, there is a way to get feed :-)
Workato
@AutomateFanBoy spoken like a true 'automate fan boy' 😄
AutomationFanBoy
The real impact is when we see automation at scale. Sure a few automations can have a big impact because they are mission critical, true impact is when you see hundreds of automations being done.
AutomationFanBoy
Seeing a culture for automation drives real impact that most can participate in.

Michelle Ng
Any business integrating systems, apps, data should be tapping into the power of automation to drive efficiencies. Carter Busse, Workato CIO, said in the Dec TwitterChat, “businesses that leverage automation to simplify complex processes will be the real winner" in 2023
