#eweekchatNew Tech to Expect in 2021JOIN US: This is a chat-based conversation about innovation and what we might expect in terms of new products and services in 2021.
Karen E. Hardy
A1: I would argue @Apple continues to improve and innovation with more intelligent, intuitive and personalized experiences. We have seen similar in our own industry for @avaya to evolve global businesses of all sizes. #technology #eweekchat
Chris Preimesberger
OK. Can you offer an example of a product of service Avaya has innovated recently?
Karen E. Hardy
Video and collaboration has been the heart of Avaya’s core communications platform. A natural evolution is now AI in the cloud with @Avaya Spaces and partnerships with @NVIDIA for remote work from anywhere solution #AI #eweekchat
Karen E. Hardy
Avaya has also moved beyond the boundaries of the contact center with AI virtual agent and A.I.Connect partners that can infuse from automationn to empowering agents with on-screen guidance in real-time #AI #CCaaS
Chris Preimesberger
Avaya is definitely a legacy company with a large and loyal client base. Do you find that perhaps some of your customers simply prefer the Avaya systems they now have and sort of look at new designs, features with some disdain?
Karen E. Hardy
Avaya is at the forefront of communications and collaboration shift to digital apps, API-first and SaaS services helping our customers transform to these rapid capabilities #UCaaS #CCaaS #eweekchat

A5: While Video has been around for years, the application and day-to-day use of it has become more engrained in our experiences, both at home and at work - it's a new work-life hybrid model!
Karen E. Hardy
A4: Heathcare systems must steer innovation and change with improved proactive outreach and engagement to patients and staff, automated voice response and digital deflection and cloud based video conferencing virtual care #Healthcare #Technology #eweekchat
Lynx Software Technologies
I am hopeful that COVID will accelerate in innovation in the healthcare segment. Robots were used in Wuhan for example....I think countries outside the US will lead this unfortunately.
Karen E. Hardy
A3: Covid-19 has shown that companies must rapidly solve problems. The burst for open innovation with #CPaaS in early growth stage will need to accelerate to allow inhouse IT developers to create apps on the fly to solve problems for #CCaaS and #UCaaS @Avaya #Covid19 #eweekchat

Q1: Apple had a major event today introducing a new version of the HomePod (which first came out in 2018)and the iPhone 12 5G. These are new advances for Apple's lineup, but do you see them as innovative? How so, or how no?
Lynx Software Technologies
A1; nothing particularly revolutionary here from first reading
Lynx Software Technologies
I think they'll sell a bunch!
Chris Preimesberger
Of course it's all about sale to their base, and there are incremental innovations in the products. But does Apple have to come out with entirely new products to continue to be innovative?
David Torgerson
I think they will sell a ton of them both. I am not sure that they are truly "innovative" and earth shattering. There are always steady improvements that cause us to look back a 6 months, a year, 5 years and realize how far we have come and how much easier it is to connect.
David Torgerson
I do not think that 'innovation' requires a new product. The easiest way to disrupt an industry is to find a niche. Apple (and others) who continue to innovate, help them maintain their place as a leader.
