Very interesting discussion so far! Remember, to ASK A QUESTION, please log in to Crowdchat. Now, @gxp_alex: Why is Box best positioned to bridge the collaboration gap in life sciences? https://www.crowdchat.net/s/95qdl

Alexander Schweigart
Box is used by over 90.000 customers globally and we are proud to have partnered with of 1,100 LifeSciences organizations (including 12 of the Top15 pharmaceutical companies) where over 1.1 million users rely on Box.

Alexander Schweigart
With over 13 years of experience in the area of collaboration, the Box Cloud Content Management platform was enhanced with Box GxP Validation in 2017 to finally break the barrier of
regulated and non-regulated content.
regulated and non-regulated content.

It's relevant that two areas high performers focus on is implementation of access controls at a document and data level, and the provision of access to controlled information via generic desktop/mobile environments.

Dale Vile
It's also no coincidence that modern cloud-based repositories (like Box) deal with both of these requirements.

Dale Vile
They can be accessed via an application (e.g. when used to underpin a clinical trials management system) or directly via a browser, desktop office tools or a mobile app.

Sometimes it is also interesting what existing customers do with Box @Lillypad: In a rapidly changing Life Sciences industry, where abundance of data

Our network of partners (like @Medidata, @Generis_Cara, @IQVIA_global, Sparta Systems, etc.) and 1,400+ available integrations to applications like Office365, Slack, ServiceNow and many other leaders provide a unique position for Box.

To me, real life use cases are always the most interesting part of any discussions. I want to see what best practices look like. There two are very impressive.

it seems like Slack integration would provide the best real-time collaboration - how does this work cross-organization?

RiedelAtCrowdChat
so the cross-.org collab needs to be set up on both slack and box to work seamlessly?

Alexander Schweigart
Exactly - Box is providing security and governance on a document level, so all other applications can benefit from these central controls

Dale Vile
If you can be confident of your policies being enforced at a document level, it takes the brakes off collaboration in general.

RiedelAtCrowdChat
so documents remain controlled but the slack discussion is uncontrolled

Dale Vile
Well, you can control the discussions in slack - depends how you set up and manage the 'team' - but your crown jewels - your data - will always be protected, even if someone is less diligent in how Slack is used

Suhela Dighe
Anything is possible with the many app integrations @Box has to offer. Totally enterprise ready and secure. I'm definitely a convert. :)

RiedelAtCrowdChat
;) you can see that I am more skeptical - my experience is that Interaction is always reduced when controls are put in - the tech gets in the way

Suhela Dighe
@at_crowd It's good to be skeptical. :)

RiedelAtCrowdChat
and the yellow bar people in the survey are skeptical too

Alexander Schweigart
Technology has been created problems in the past - which would may be not have been there without technology ;)

Dale Vile
It's worth exploring modern cloud-based systems more closely as the good ones (like Box) are designed to make policy enforcement almost invisible.

RiedelAtCrowdChat
I totally believe the needle can be moved - tech innovation is my life - but the progress I’ve experienced is very slow in this area

Alexander Schweigart
But taking a different approach and put the usability in the center of system design changes this.

RiedelAtCrowdChat
will try to get a closer look at the box magic - thanks the encouragement!

Dale Vile
Re technology creating problems in the past, this is most noticeable when solutions haven't kept up with changing requirements, practices and behaviour.
