EMC has many yrs history in IT. We successfully transitioned from Platform 1 to 2. The key elements were around improving TCO, App integration, & evolution of data stores

The largest source of data growth today is machine generated data. We continue to see digital info double every 18 months, even in the face of recessions. Because of this data reduction technologies are a core focus for EMC.

Dan Hushon sure, but the mission critical (txn/summary) needs to be decorated with raw (log, stream, detail)... this requires federation, disk->compute efficiency matters.
