How does CSC build a digital culture? is it different in different regions?
lewis richards
has to come from personal responsibility first, learn via play a la Ed Hess
Nigel Barron
By supporting the constant learner ethic
Sarah James
being willing to change and open to change
Ganesh Swaminathan
Across all regions, CSC is driving agility, responsiveness in the employees, equipping them with the skills, offerings & partner tools to respond to changing biz and tech dynamics
Sarah James
certainly different around the world.different regions adopt different technologies or jump technologies, countries also adopt at different rates as well thus effecting digital culture.
deon erwee
Digital Culture change will differ across regions because of the difference in CULTURES themselves. Just within the UK there are multiple culture each working at their own speed in terms of change and adoption of digital
Ganesh Swaminathan
Help customers leverage technology as a competitive advantage in its internal and external operations
Dan Hushon
@DeonErwee have you read "Boiling Frogs"? https://github.com/G... what do you think?
Dan Hushon
@NigelBarron how do you learn to "act" differently e.g. a #DigitalCulture
Ngoc V Do
proactively change/transform internally as well by encouraging/supporting more innovation even startups...
DougNeal
effective digital takes both tech and context – learn from young and old
Ganesh Swaminathan
Enabling tech staff through TechTalks + Trainings + Certifications+ Practice Labs (Virtual)- on CSC offerings, + AWS, Azure, SNOW, NetBond, Tools and platforms enabling DevOps, Remodeled CSC University, Defined career progression for tech staff
Nigel Barron
I think curiosity is a must have in a digital culture
David Seymour
CSCCOM2017 ? - We have a large community of folks who may not consider themselves "Technologists" , but who drive the day to day behaviour of technologists. We need to sit infront of the mirror and repeat "Digital Culture applies to me"
David Seymour
we need to embed the Tech strategy into the our induction - I meet a lot of people inducted straight into programmes/accounts without getting a CSC Digital Journey induction.
DougNeal
What do your kids know that you don't, but should??
David Seymour
Martha Johnson concluded that "CSC culture change is "drip drip" not "big bang" - is that still true ? If it is how do we approach culture change at CSC ? How would Accenture be solving this problem ?
Nigel Barron
Changing habits is also important
Carl Kinson
@seymourd68 Agree, i believe we have the material through the TownHalls and various talks, the entry pack should provide a list of this as essential reading/viewing. Would add Key Digital Shifts to this.
David Seymour
It feels like we have started to segrate comms across regions/industries/imperatives/offerings much more than organise collaborative cross organisational comms.
Ganesh Swaminathan
Different types of work (Utility, Commodity, Specialist, Innovation) require different ways of working, contractual models, technologies, supply chains, cultures, processes...
Mark Truong
Sharing knowledge will foster innovation; just like silicon valley when it first started.
David Seymour
@ckinson - Yes - I honestly do not believe you folks could have done any more to provide & encourage the platform for information, learning & collaboration, for digital. Including incentives!! - That's not the same as cultural change :(
Dan Hushon
@NigelBarron Curiosity is the key skill that employers are hiring for sure!
Dan Hushon
@NigelBarron Actually I say curious and impatient!
Aman Sharma
By Implementing new skills & driving them globally....
DougNeal
Curiosity, impatience, and the willingness to be embarrassed in their pursuit -- a big issue with client execs
Dan Hushon
@DougNeal sure it's hard to admit that you had a failed experiment... but taking the blame is hard.. but I've seen one CEO recently do it!
DougNeal
consider doing1on 1 training for client execs - get their kids involved - parents are used to comments from their kids
David Seymour
could we look to the challenges we have had across the Total org. in taking up Agile Practises / Scrum in learning how to improve our changes at a Digital Culture ?
Simon Alexander
Ideas great, planning good but at some pt we must act doing something breaking from current image (internal/external) & which sets the course of where we want to go.Of all the talk nothing about destination, what is the vision, what is the why?
David Seymour
re boiling frogs - I thinks its wholely likely that some frogs could/will/have evolved to recognise that someone has their hand on the gas dial and jump out straight away ! ;)
DougNeal
It helps when you make learning cool - something you brag about to your peers - tools like Microsoft HoloLens may help
Nigel Barron
@DougNeal My last course in May - MITProfessionalX Course Diary - IOTx Internet of Things: Roadmap to a Connected World #Bragging ;-)
Mark Truong
How do you know if it is a good idea / innovation? I once asked a Venture Capital. He said if it works 10 times or more better.
DougNeal
@NigelBarron Great! You should want to do things you can brag about -- why else do it?
Sarah James
@DougNeal @NielBarron For Love and because you really want to and need to know more? and to inspire others
Nigel Barron
@GeoSuperGirl Of course Sarah, that goes without saying
Sarah James
@NigelBarron part of our day job, probably why we love our jobs!
DougNeal
- how many of your apps are ones your clients use?
